WIMLER Foundation HK announces that the next batch of Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (ALSE 74) Training Program will start in Hong Kong on Sunday, March 10, 2019. To accommodate those whose free days fall on Saturdays, a Saturday Class (ALSE 73) will also be conducted if we get the minimum number of participants.
An empowerment program for overseas Filipinos, the Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (ALSE) Training Program spearheaded by the Consortium on Migration and Development will hold an orientation seminar on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Migrant Empowerment Resource Center (MERC), 12/F Euro Trade Centre 21-23 Des Voeux Road, Central, Hong Kong from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.
The ALSE Program is a joint initiative of the Ateneo University School of Government (ASoG) with the Overseas Filipinos Society for the Promotion of Economic Security (OFSPES), the Social Enterprises Development Partnerships Inc. (SEDPI) and several government institutions, the Philippine Consulate HK, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO HK), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA HK). The ALSE course in Hong Kong is organized and coordinated by WIMLER HK and Alumni Association of the Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship HK (AAALSE-HK). The course is also supported by Prime Credit, Philippine National Bank HK and SWIFT Asia Pacific.
The ALSE was first conducted in Rome, Italy in 2008 and has since reached out to other OFs in Naples, Milan, Florence and Turin. As of mid-2018, about 3,000 have graduated in Italy, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Dubai, China (Hong Kong and Macau), Singapore, UAE, Spain, and Japan, Financial Literacy, Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (FLSE) were also conducted in Baclaran, Iloilo, Davao City , Cagayan del Oro, and La Union attended by families of OFWs.
The ALSE training program will consist of 12 sessions which will be held from March to September 2019. The sessions are scheduled twice a month on Sundays from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Same time for Saturday Class. The final session will feature the presentation of the social entrepreneurship business plans of the participants.
ALSE seeks to enable the socio-cultural, political and economic empowerment of overseas Filipinos in Hong Kong, particularly the youth, by:
· Training and building capacities on leadership, financial literacy and social entrepreneurship skills in a migrant context;
· Enabling trainees to undertake their social enterprises to improve their lives, families and communities;
· Providing mentoring support, especially for the youth trainees, to assist and guide the implementation of their social enterprises.
Requirements for trainees:
Commitment to use ALSE-learned skills in the service of the community after graduatio

OWWA membership is current

Only those who have submitted their application forms and have paid HK$ 100 reservation fee on or have paid in partial/full before March 2/3, 2019 will be considered as enrolled.
The secretariat can only accommodate a limited number of participants. Please enroll as early as possible.

Course Fee
Participation fee is HK$ 1,000 for the whole course for migrant domestic workers and HK$ 2,000 for non-migrant domestic workers payable on the following terms:
March 3, 2019– deadline for registration and payment of $100.00 non-refundable reservation fee, deductible from the tuition fee for those who will actually follow the course.
Course fee is payable in CASH on the following terms:
$300.00 on or before March 3, 2019 $200.00 on or before April 7, 2019 $200.00 on or before May 19, 2019 $200.00 on or before June 16, 2019
Admission to the course is on “first come, first served basis” and for those who have paid full or partial payment before March 9/10, 2019 and have met the admission requirements.
All application forms of regular participants should be submitted during the Orientation Seminar on March 2/3, 2019.
